Region:For most, CERETTO is predominantly recognized for its extraordinary red and white wines, estate vineyards, exceptional quality, unique and architecturally modern wineries, and art. Upon closer examination, however, you will discover a whole other world where their homeland, the Langhe hills, is key thanks to its collection of rare and precious gastronomic gems.
The secret of success for the CERETTO family lies in many different elements. First and foremost, the land and its uniqueness. It is, however, not enough on its own; a wine’s success also lies in the passion and knowledge of the people working on the land. It was Riccardo Ceretto, in the 30s, who had the foresight to start producing wines in the area, but it was his sons Bruno and Marcello Ceretto that raised the stakes. They started buying the most prestigious vineyards in the areas of Barolo and Barbaresco and took on the challenge to enhance the characteristic quality of Langhe and the standard of its wines. Currently the winery is run by the 3rd generation, the cousins Lisa, Roberta, Alessandro and Federico who choose a different agricultural approach for the 160 hectares of vineyards. Now, CERETTO’s new way involves non-invasive practices and no use of herbicides or chemicals.
The family DNA is engraved with the constant pursuit of excellence. In fact, over the last 20 years, they have extended their interests beyond the production of fine wines to include other local products and activities such as hazelnuts, authentic tradition of Langhe, the production of torrone, or nougat, haute cuisine with their 2 restaurants (La Piola and Piazza Duomo, 3 Michelin Star) and contemporary art events and works. “Our land has undoubtedly given us a hand in this endeavor. In the Langhe daily life is made up of these rare and unique pleasures of the palate. We are aware of this fortune and this strive us to send forth this message throughout the world through our products, sharing and educating in the culture of good living, eating and drinking.”
