PAOLO PETRILLI manages La Motticella, an estate located near Lucera in the Daunia region (northern Puglia), which covers approximately 10-11 hectares of vineyards cultivated entirely organically using a sustainable approach: no international grape varieties, only indigenous varieties such as Nero di Troia, Sangiovese, Montepulciano, Aglianico, and Bombino Bianco.

Paolo Petrilli himself is both a farmer and a man of the land, deeply attached to the soil of his region. He applies the same high standards of quality to his vines as to his renowned tomato production: hand-harvesting, low yields, indigenous yeasts, and environmentally friendly winemaking.
