La Lomellina di Gavi

Region:
Piedmont, Italy
Gavi’s La Lomellina di Gavi embodies a rich winemaking heritage, rooted in the Genoese aristocracy and later elevated by the Raggio family. In 1816, Marco Lomellini established the estate’s first vineyards, marking the beginning of a long viticultural tradition in Gavi. At the end of the 19th century, the property came into the hands of Count-Marquis Edilio Raggio, who transformed the estate into a center of excellence in wine production, strengthening the bond between Gavi’s unique terroir and the Cortese grape variety. Today, the estate covers 16 hectares of vineyards, restored and modernized since 2006 by Emanuela Croce Raggio. She continues the family legacy by producing one of Piedmont’s most refined white wines.
