CASTELLO DI AMA is one of the emblematic estates of Chianti Classico, located in the heart of the Tuscan hills, its vineyards being the highest in the entire Chianti Classico region. Founded in 1976 by four Roman families passionate about wine, the estate quickly distinguished itself through its pursuit of excellence and its innovative approach to Sangiovese. Today, Castello di Ama is internationally renowned for its elegant grand cru wines, notably its Chianti Classico single-vineyard wines, Vigneto Bellavista and Vigneto La Casuccia, as well as the celebrated Super Tuscan L'Apparita, made from 100% Merlot.
The estate is run by Lorenza Sebasti, daughter of one of the founders, and not by oenologist Marco Pallanti, who arrived at the estate in 1982. Together, they have helped to make Castello di Ama a world reference for Chianti Classico, combining Tuscan tradition, winemaking innovation and a passion for contemporary art.
